Solve People Challenges. Drive Business Results.

Strategic, hands-on Interim HR Management & Leadership Development that drive measurable outcomes.

When Change Demands Action

Is your organisation facing change, growth, or a leadership gap? Maybe you have new managers who need guidance, HR processes that aren’t keeping up with the business, or critical projects that are stalling.

These situations can slow down growth, create uncertainty, and leave teams without the direction they need.

That’s when taking action matters. By bringing in the right interim HR support, your company can stabilise operations, align teams, and keep projects on track. You get clarity on priorities, faster decision-making, and a clear path forward, so your managers can focus on leading, and your business can continue to grow without disruption.

My name is Pawel Karbowski

I’m an HR Leader with over 15 years of experience stepping into environments where clarity, structure, and momentum are needed fast. I’ve supported companies across Switzerland and internationally through scale, transformation, and moments where the People function must mature quickly. From Fortune 500 corporations to fast-scaling startups, I’ve seen how critical strong HR leadership and capable managers are to organisational success.

I’m a certified leadership coach through the Academy of Leadership Coaching in San Francisco. I’ve coached and mentored over 300 managers and led workshops for more than 4,000 people. My approach is direct, practical, and built on years of seeing what actually works.

Companies partner with me because they know HR leadership is too important to leave to chance. I step in to stabilise HR functions, drive critical people projects, and help managers become confident leaders who execute effectively, motivate teams, and protect culture while scaling. That’s the foundation every growing company needs, and it’s exactly what I deliver.

What I Offer

Practical and effective HR solutions to help your company thrive

When Stability, Clarity, and Momentum Matter Most.

A flexible interim HR management engagement designed for companies in Switzerland that are going through growth, transition, or change, and need immediate, hands-on HR leadership. This offer supports organisations facing HR gaps, leadership transitions, rapid scaling, or people challenges that require ownership, structure, and decisive action.

The Interim HR Leadership engagement is built to provide stability and direction at moments when HR cannot afford to stall. I step into your organisation as a temporary Head of HR, HR Manager, or HR Business Partner, taking responsibility for day-to-day HR leadership while aligning people operations with business priorities. The focus is on restoring clarity, strengthening execution, and ensuring teams and managers are supported during periods of uncertainty or transformation.

This engagement emphasises practical, embedded HR leadership rather than external advice. Work is done from within the organisation, closely aligned with leadership and teams, addressing real challenges as they happen. This includes guiding managers, stabilising HR processes, driving key people initiatives, and ensuring continuity across hiring, performance, culture, and compliance. The result is a functioning, resilient HR setup that supports both people and business outcomes.

By the end of the engagement, organisations are left with stronger HR foundations, clearer ownership, and teams that are better supported and more aligned. HR operations are stabilised, managers have direction, and leadership can move forward with confidence, knowing that people challenges are under control and no longer slowing down progress.

We enrolled our new managers in Pawel's program, and the difference was clear within weeks. They came back with practical tools, greater confidence, and a stronger ability to lead their teams effectively. It’s rare to find a program that delivers tangible improvements so quickly. Our teams are performing better, and our managers are truly stepping up.

Before this program, I was excited about my promotion but honestly felt overwhelmed. The workshops and coaching gave me a clear framework for leading my team and handling tricky situations like feedback and goal-setting. I feel far more confident now, and I can see my team responding positively. Engagement and productivity have improved, and I finally feel in control as a manager.

The program helped me understand how to motivate different team members, run effective 1:1s, and make decisions that align with both our company goals and culture. The coaching was practical, supportive, and exactly what I needed to grow into my new role. I would recommend it to any new manager who wants to hit the ground running.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the questions customers ask most often before engaging in my services

How is interim HR leadership different from traditional HR consulting?

Traditional HR consulting often focuses on analysis, recommendations, and reports. Interim HR leadership is different because I step into your organisation and take ownership. I lead, decide, and execute from within the business. That means day-to-day HR management continues without disruption, priorities are clear, and issues are addressed as they arise, not weeks later in a presentation. You get hands-on leadership, not external advice.

How quickly can you start and deliver impact?

Interim work is designed for speed. In most cases, I can start within days or a couple weeks. Impact typically begins within the first week, as priorities are clarified, decisions are unblocked, and ownership is re-established. You’ll see faster responses, clearer communication, and more confident handling of people topics across the organisation.

Will you work strategically or operationally?

Both. Interim HR leadership requires switching constantly between strategy and execution. I handle day-to-day HR topics while also addressing underlying structural issues. That means immediate problems are solved, and longer-term improvements are put in place at the same time, without overengineering or unnecessary complexity.

How do you ensure continuity after the interim engagement ends?

A key part of the role is leaving the organisation stronger than I found it. Before the engagement ends, I ensure:

  • Clear documentation of processes and decisions

  • Defined ownership and responsibilities

  • A structured handover to internal teams or a new hire

  • Practical recommendations for next steps

The goal is not dependency, but stability and clarity moving forward.

Is interim HR leadership suitable for smaller companies or startups?

Yes, especially for startups and scale-ups. Smaller organisations often don’t need a full-time senior HR leader yet, but they do need experience, structure, and calm decision-making. Interim HR leadership provides exactly that, without the long-term commitment or hiring risk.

How does this work alongside manager coaching or development?

Interim HR leadership and coaching complement each other naturally. While HR operations are stabilised, managers often need guidance to step into their roles more effectively. Coaching can be integrated where helpful — grounded in real situations managers are facing — rather than as a separate, abstract initiative.

How is your approach different from generic leadership training?

Most programs teach theory in a corporate context. From Doer to Leader is different because it’s built exclusively for startups and scale-ups. The content is lean, practical, and immediately applicable. Instead of abstract models, we work on the exact situations your managers face — motivating peers who used to be colleagues, setting priorities in fast-changing environments, giving tough feedback without losing trust, and aligning with company culture while still driving results. Every session ends with concrete tools and actions that managers use the same week. That’s why the impact shows up quickly in day-to-day performance.

What outcomes can we expect for our managers and company?

Managers leave the program with clarity, confidence, and tools they can use immediately. You’ll see:

  • Fewer management mistakes early on.

  • Higher team performance and engagement.

  • Retention of top performers who see better leadership.

   •  More time freed up for founders and execs, because managers step up effectively.

At the end of the program, you’ll also receive a comprehensive report with outcomes, insights, and recommendations to guide your next steps in leadership development.

How quickly can we expect to see results?

Most companies notice a shift within the first 1–2 months. Managers begin applying what they learn right away, so you’ll see better conversations, clearer expectations, and more ownership almost from the start. To make progress visible, I also help set up simple KPIs you can track — things like feedback frequency, team engagement, or alignment on goals — so impact is measurable.

How is the program delivered?

The program is designed as a remote-first experience, delivered online through live workshops, coaching sessions, and digital resources. This makes it accessible to managers anywhere. For companies that prefer in-person delivery, onsite sessions can be arranged upon request, depending on timing and location.

What if our managers are at different levels of experience?

That’s common in startups and scale-ups. The program is structured so that each manager develops at their own pace, while group sessions encourage shared learning and peer support. More experienced managers still benefit from sharpening the skills and fixing their blind spots, while newer managers gain confidence faster through coaching and guided practice.
